From the UK the transatlanic crossing from Southampton to New York takes 7 days

took about 4 days from the UK, and then customs on top of that about 6 days from on the boat to released in the states. southampton to charleston, SC.

Via sail(cheapest) europe to west coast of africa, africa to either south america or carribean carribean to US.. figure each leg depending on time: (summer is best) , favorable winds current about 23 days to cross the atlantic. Not sure of carribean..
