I have a white bump on my eyes, between the pupil and the inner tear duct. It's been there a long time and my whole family has them. I forgot what they're called. I'm pretty sure that it is not a sty. I've had them for at least 10 years. For some reason I'm thinking that it might be called a caterack or something, but I really don't remember. I heard they can be removed (scraped off) and I would like to have this procedure done -eek! Can anyone help me find the name of these things?

I developed a bump on my eye about 5 years ago. I was told it was from the sun and wind without wearing sunglasses.(I fish a lot) Its called a pyngyculum. Dr. said it shouldn't ever impair my vision but if it would it can be removed.

it could be a cataract, but you usually aren't born with those. Why not go see an opthamoligist. they are the experts. but if you only want it removed for aesthetic reasons... why take the risk?
