If you don't get a DJ... I suggest downloading some mixtapes. And if its a high school or middle school dance then you will need to find some censored music. But a DJ is the best bet since he/she would have the censored version of the most popular songs on the radio.
You could do a survey of songs that the students would like to hear in order to have a playlist ready for the DJ or to download.
Go to Mixtapetorrent.com to find some mixtapes.. and they have mixtapes with remixes ... Good luck though...

You should play whatever is most popular. Dance, Rock, Pop, maybe some popular R & B, or Hip Hop. Go to a music store, or even to a Walmart. Buy one of those "NOW" dated 2006, or 2007, that is if NOW of 2007 is out yet. It will have the most popular teen dance music on it. It mostly music that you would hear on MTV, and you know kids love MTV. Hope you guys have fun.

hip hop, country, and rock so diffrent kind of people can enjoy it cuz not all people enjoy the same thing and make sure the lyrics are appropriate
