Mauve is a beautiful color! Especialy with nuetrals. You have to go with what your skin tone is.

I agree with the fushia. I also have olive skin.
but actually i think Mauve is sortof pretty in a way.
I wouldnt use it as my wall color or a dress but maybe a shirt? It depends.
But muave can be pretty in a flower:

Maybe a light sheer muave eyeshadow would be pretty but never a dark matte mauve. Ew.

My lips are mauve. That's why I use mauve lipstick that just darkens slightly.

But now Orange and bright yellow..puck!!!

They really bring out the red in my skin - looks like I have a sunburn.

My point is different strokes for different folkks.

I personally think mauve is a great color for eyeliner, but I don't really know what you mean by your question. Do you mean you don't like mauve and fuchsia colors for putting on ANY makeup?

Sorry I don't understand!
:)

Mauve reminds me of my Grandmother's curtains, and Fuschia reminds me of legwarmers and rubber bracelets from the 80's. The worst however is "Dusty Rose"...what is that, dirty pink? Ugh. When I want to get excited about makeup colors, I go to good old standby NARS. Who can resist Desire, or Zen, or even the taboo, Deep Throat? Or how about Hard Candy? They have such great names for makeup, Girlie and Passion Play, Bling Bling and Eye Candy. I say we rename Mauve, "my Grannie's Curtains", and Fuschia "Mom's 80's Mistake". Put the fun back in makeup again!! ;) Peace

Mauve and fuchsia looks well on elderly women because of liver spots on older peoples skin. I personally would take mauve over fuchsia.
