Where are you?
I want to feel a sense of familiarity when I relocate, where are you guys and where are some of the good soul food restaurants at? How about some hip hop and jazz night clubs and of course where are the best BEAUTY SHOPS! Where is a sista to go? I visited back in the summer but did not have a lot of time to explore. (relocating from Chicago to Phoenix - summer )

** Are there areas or neighborhoods that I, as a minority should be a bit conscious of when it comes to my family?

Some people are taking this too the racist Extreme, ex Diana. It is not to be taken this way, NOT AT ALL!!! I am from CHICAGO AKA CHI-TOWN if you didn't know it. Chicago is a huge melting pot and a question like this does not have to be asked. This is the midwest and you find beautiful people of all different races HERE, thank you very much. I am relocating for other reasons that take me to Phoenix, Chicago is GREAT, just never been a snowbird.
Do not misinterpret what I am really asking. For you to respond on assumption that I am being racist just tells me one thing, YOU ARE NOT OF COLOR AND YOU DO NOT UNDERSTAND! I also asked that serious people respond and not anyone who is getting all up in their chests about this very true subject. I do my research on Phoenix and have done it in the last 2 yrs but the actual experience was 2 days only. I would be a fool to ignore it and you a FOOL if you think that it still does not exist in peoples hearts and actions! Have a great day!

Just get an atlas and find MLK Blvd and go there, every town I have ever been in thats where blacks congregate and there is usually some decent crack too.
