Absolutely not. (unless you consider doing something for someone else greedy in order to receive positive results in the future like healthy, smart children who will lead productive lives so I don't have to support them.)
Okay, pretty much everything's about greed. But some of us have better motives about why they do things.

Yes. I think that, deep down, every act is a selfish act? Why? Because every action that a person takes results in some kind of gratification (unless you realize right after that it was a BIG mistake... but that's another story).
So how is giving $$$ to charity selfish? Well, after you sponsor that kid through Christian Children's Fund for less than the cost of a cup of coffee each day (God forbid if you're a tea drinker, or caffeine-intollerant) you feel good about what you've done. Bang! That's you're greedy reward. If you felt like crap after you gave that money, you'd never do it again.
OK, so maybe that doesn't sound like greed to you, but getting that "good feeling" (or, conversely, avoiding a "bad feeling") is the reason that people do anything. Why do you think Christian Children's Fund shows all those poor, starving kids? They make you feel bad about sitting in your nice, comfy chair munching on a Mars bar, hoping that you'll pick up the phone and pledge to make that bad feeling go away for only 77 cents/day. And why do you help an old lady stand up when she slips and falls in the snow? Because it makes you feel good - you feel like an everyday hero for taking 10 seconds out of your day to help someone else - a small investment for a big return in "feelin' good".

I think that when you give you should give from your heart.I read once that when you truly give and don't expect anything in return that is the best feeling you'll ever feel in your heart.Take for instance,a stray dog or cat crosses the street and gets hit by a passing car it's still alive and the driver of the car doesn't stop to help.Would you go and help out to see if you can save it from dying knowing that this stray cat or dog will not be able to ever thank you?Well that is when you do something from your heart and there is no greed there. No not everything is about greed.

I don't think everything in life is about greed. Some people make it their mission, believe that. Others don't. However, all of us have done it, as humans.
Personally, as I get older, I realize that it's not about anything like that at all.
People that are greedy and stay that way, don't have a clue. They haven't learned a thing.
Most of the things that I have done in my life are to make my life better for myself as well as others, I can truly say that.

The economy around the world is a major factor in determining society's happiness as a whole.
The definition of economics is: the study of human behavior and why people choose to use their scarce resources to satisfy their unlimited wants.
The term rational self-interest is used frequently by economist and it describes how people make choices: People choose what will give them the greatest amount of satisfaction.
For most people I don't think it's greed, it's just wanting satisfaction.
And YES, I do want satisfaction!

Unfortunately, everything is set up in life to be a manifestation of greed. Whether we are talking about traditional greed (monetary) or pure happiness (or the search of). We all have a desire to be happy and happiness itself is a type of greed. Even Buddhists gain happiness in the destruction of wants. Helping others, making friends, giving to charity... it's all to make us happy and self-fulfilled with our lives.
We need to accept that there are two forms of greed. One form is to help ourselves by simply making ourselves happy (such as wealth) and the second form is to help ourselves by doing good deeds for others (such as helping another person in trouble). The better form of greed is the second form and it should be our goal.

Is getting what you want all the time really the best thing for a person? What is true happiness? Stepping over people to get that job and then have to deal with those same people for the next ten years? We think materialism makes us happy. Why be mean and rude? It takes just as much effort to be nice and pleasant. Being a good person can make one feel better about himself, and about those around him. (Trying not to get into religion.)

No, not at all. In evolutionary psychology (not the theory of evolution), there is a phenomena that disputes that people only do things that benefit themselves. It is called Altuism.
Altruism involves helping someone to your own detriment or peril. Like jumping into freezing water to save a drowning person. At first, altruism was explained as only involving people you love (like your kids) but strangers often risk their life (and die) rescuing others.

Welllll... we have to do SOMETHING in life. We go to school to get a good job, we get a good job to get more money, to support a family, to have children, to raise your children, populate the earth, and die. Between those things, we do what we really want to do, like music and stuff. It's just what we do. I'm not sure what else we might do... why don't you come up with something?
