And is it wrong that I dread them like there's no tomorrow? ;-)

It all depends on whose wedding it is. Less than intimate acquaintances make for a dreadfully boring wedding, but the weddings of those close to you...look out. J-Love gets a little crazy on those days. And somehow a bridesmaid or two always ends up sore the next day...;-)

I've been to my fair share. Always the Best Man to. It's a terrible job. You're the one who takes the blame if anything goes wrong, you're responsible to get the drunken groom out of the strip joint before the cops do, you have to stand there like an idiot while the show is happening, and you have to give a great speech. When my girlfriend and I get married, we've agreed it's going to be very quick and then through the biggest party ever. So everyone can say, yeah I hate weddings to but I went to one...

There's nothing wrong with dreading them. I don't care for weddings that much either. I only go if my absence would hurt feelings, other than that I just send a gift and a nice card....

I can't say that I like going to them, but I like all of the events that go along with them. And no it's not wrong that you dread them. Some of them are boring as ............. But there are some that will just about blow your mind. I guess it truyly depends on the styles of the bride and groom. Well, actually most weddings are based on the style of the wife

I have gone to 2 weddings and even though they were romantic, they were also annoying too. The receptions were loud, noisy and had too many people (some of them were there for the food and drink I think) and each couple must have spent a fortune on their weddings! So you're not alone in not liking weddings.

i rather not go but i have to. i hate wearing long dresses and usually the weddings are at 9pm so its very elegant. then the high heels, i just fall down or at least feel like im going to fall.

but the good part is, theres always lots of vodka which i loveee and lots to eat and typically it would be shrimp, lobster, fish, meat, and soooo many more and different things that just thinking of all the good food im going to have in one night and to drink that i get dress and go. also its fun to go with some friends and see others that probably i havent seen in a while.

It's not wrong to dread them. I hate them, but go for family. I lost two husbands, that's why I hate them.

Whats wrong with you people ? I come from a large family with a LOT of friends so we have a big party and lots to do and music and free food and you get to catch up with everyone. The little kids dancing and the old people dancing. I think we need to adopt some of you !!

I sort of dread them too. For me it's the "what am I going to wear" syndrome.
