worse! sad to say, i see it to much from whites. i am Hispanic. i have notice ever since 9/11 the whites not only hate Arabs more but also all other too. before 9/11 it was not as bad from what i noticed. too bad its so so sad that people have to be bad to each other cuz of race, religion or nationality. i not trying to knock down whites but it has to be said. some of u are sweet good people and alot are nasty and rude to others. white really u all need to stop that "we the best attitude" no one is better!!!!!! and to tell u something if u are in to bible or quran, whatever if u notice all stories are from middle east. all Prophets come from middle east. and Jesus is an Arab/middle eastern!!!!

the amount is staying the same. I think its just shifting to different races to reflect the shift in ignorance.

the severity is getting better. now days, its mostly insensitivity (on a daily basis). there is still police brutality and other severe forms of racism, but people aren't getting lynched and strung up on trees everyday anymore. Some racists occasionally can't help themselves...like in Texas, where a guy was drug from the back of a pick up truck until his head comes off. thats pretty severe, but these days, its pretty rare.

I believe it's getting better, but little by little. I was only born in 1985, but nowadays racism is more the kind where you speak politcally correct & don't mind hiring illegals to work for you but you want a fence up on the Mexico border. There's no denying white superamcy groups like the KKK still exist, but the cross burning, brick throwing, & white cape wearing image is in a different form now.

I believe worse, but, I can only speak about my region. I live on the west coast in one of the mostly covertly racist states: California. We have so much tension among racial groups struggling to make a living, most notably, African American and Mexicans. Racial riots on school campuses are increasing in frequency, and no one really seems to know how to handle it. Young people are being murdered on the street because of the color of their skin by racist gangs. I'm making plans to high tail it out of here as soon as possible!

I think its getting better in some ways. Judging from this the many ignorant questions asked to offend on this site you wouldn't be able to tell it though.

Probably worse. The aftermath of Hurricane Katrina was a wake-up call to white America.

If it is getting worse it is not the white man who is the racist, but the various minorities. As C.J. above stated, it seems certain minority groups perpetuate the racist cycle by living the victim role and refusing to step up and be the better person. Of course, there are still plenty of white people who are racists, but in general I think racism has subsided significantly amongst the nation as a whole. People are, and should, be judged based on their individual accountability and merit, not on the color of their skin.

I think that we are just projecting it against different groups. We tell ourselves that it's getting better, but I don't think it really is.

I think the minority of racists Americans are getting louder but the amount of people in that group are shrinking. (They also would vote for George Bush a third time.)
