he got email he didnt give any information to them about his bank account, they will send him the fake prize by ups, he knows it is fake now but he is worried from the next step, when they contact him again what should he do

Report it to the police. They won't get the money back for you, and they probably won't contact you again. These are international mafia-type gangs; they know how to cover their tracks and avoid international law enforcement.

I don't understand how he could have transferred money to the scam without giving any information to them. If a money transfer was made, they would have a record of where it came from, the account, etc.

If he transferred nothing, and gave them absolutely no information then he should have nothing to worry about.

In the meantime, if he did give them information one way or the other he should contact the bank which hold the account and tell them what happened. They could freeze the account to ensure that nobody can get money from it without your approval.
