Because it can be dangerous to the one who is inserting the needle. There is always a slight chance that the one administering the injection could get pricked.

Also, it is just ethical in society to treat humans as human beings. It's humane.

Maybe if the injection does not work, they don't want the person to get a disease before the next injection or or an unsterilized needle might cause a chemical reaction with the lethal injection that might not cause the person's death? Good question!

Same reason that an execution was stopped because the piece of crap said it was inhumane to kill someone with a needle. I think we should shove a rusted tube up the as* and pour hydrochloric acid in there and let the acid eat their insides out until they die. Winning little b_tches, they committed the crime and they complain about needles.

I dunno either...i mean...why would it matter if the needle was sterile for lethal injections??? Cuz the person is going to die anyways. I guess maybe they have to make sure it was not contaminated with something that could cause problems with the chemical they use to kill the person....but I dunno....I would like to know the answer to this one. Good question.

They sterelize every needle..lethal or non lethal..or tatoo needles.. all of them..its of course to prevent infection/diseases. Its probably manufactured that way, the manufacturer doesn;t know what it is for yet..

I have always wondered that myself and all I can come up with is this; in case the person administering the injection pokes themselves on accident.

We wouldn't want our newly executed person to get any diseases, so we sterilize the needles.
