I wouldn't advise it, but it is not actually toxic, a small amount of it will not suck up all the water in your body and it is effectively a particular physical form of glass. I'd say that it is probably no more dangerous than eating some sand - not toxic but your disgestive system isn't really up to coping with a lot of it. However, inhaling it probably not a good idea.

DO NOT EAT SILICA GEL!


It is toxic and will make you ill.

It has also been specially made to absorb water from the air to stop damp forming inside items that are sealed.
The first danger you may face is that the gel has swelled up and is blocked all or part of your airway. If it gets further into your system it could cause a blockage anywhere.

Silica gel absorbs a LOT of water; if you were to eat one, it could cause a serious intestinal blockage.

It sucks all the moisture out of your body and you'll look like you've spent 5 hours in a hot bath......

You will get really really really thirsty. And you will probably get constipated after they suck up all the moisture in your bosy. You will look like a dried prune

ive always wondered that too
we sell sweets that come packaged in that stuff
it its so bad then why put it with food?
