I've been trying different mousturizers, face wash, foundation, and nothing seems to work, in the morning, my skin feels dry and it's flaky, but in the afternoon it's really oily, what products work for you?

You definitely something which is more water-based and hydrating, you mentioned that your skin is oily in the afternoon because the skin secrets oil to protect itself. You should have dry skin types. I have dry skin type too and I think the following works quite nicely on dry skin (I will post the link which include info and review, coz otherwise it will be too long), see if it interests you:

Face Wash: Burt Bees Orange Essence Cleanser (http://beauty-tricks.com/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&Itemid=99999999&id=422)

Moisturizer:
- Avene Hydrance Optimale Light is wonderful but not sure if you can get it (http://beauty-tricks.com/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&Itemid=99999999&id=242)

Otherwise Lancome Hydra Zen Nuit is good (http://beauty-tricks.com/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&Itemid=99999999&id=166)

For foundation and makeup, I really suggest Bare Escentuals coz it is really good for dry skin. But remember to put on its primer first before applying the foundation (here a list of things I use and my comments: http://beauty-tricks.com/index.php?option=com_search&Itemid=5&searchword=Bare+Escentuals&submit=Search&searchphrase=exact&ordering=newest)

I am 28 and in Australia. I use Clinique 3 -step, Clinique 7 day scrub (morning), Clinique Total Turnaround (night) and emergency mask whenever I feel like. My skin used to be really oily and i used to break out heaps. Clinique has really helped even though it is a little pricey out here in Australia. Oh and I use Revlon makeup products but by end of day their normal colorstay foundation made my face greasy so I swapped for Colorstay active.

Well, I have extremely dry skin and in the afternoon, the sides of my nose and my forehead is oily. So, for face wash, I use Olay cleanser for Normal/ Dry skin. It works really well. And for moisturizer, I use Aveeno Daily Moisturizer. For foundation, I use Maybelline Instant Age Rewind(not that I'm old)Cream Foundation in Medium Beige. You can choose another shade if you have paler or darker skin. You can buy them in drugstores. They are NOT expensive.

~Hope this helps~

I know of a company that has a Product with a patent-pending on a self-prserving technology. Which means it has no preservatives (parabens, etc.) I have super oily skin and my husband has dry skin. This is the only product that has totally worked for both of us and we love it! The product is called SENSE by Usana Health Sciences. You can also get it at wholsale, just contact someone on the website and let them know.

I use Merle Norman lotion. It used to be called Protective Veil, but it has a new name and I can't remember it (any M.N. rep would know). I put the lotion on my face right after washing my face at night and again in the morning before I put on my foundation. It's a light-weight lotion, so my face isn't really greasy by the end of the day. And it doesn't give me pimples like heavier lotions do.

i think a good idea would be to ask your doctor to reccomend a dermatologist.

but another idea would be to use a good moisturizer in the am (i use aveeno or neutrogena clear face), and if your face is too oily in the afternoon, why not try washing your face midway through the day. If that is inconvenient for you- try one of those facial cloths.

good luck

I realy like each and every dove products for pores and skin, they have an truly good selection and are hypeallergenic... also my mom has great dry hair and swears on the ok-pak by technique of joico, that is somewhat pricier then sunsilk yet works wonders.

You can try the Prescriptives brand, I really like their foundation called virtual youth. Available at Macy's. Othewise contact a dermotologist. Nivea and biore have good products as well.

Ever tried "Lush"? They sell at Macy's and have their own stores as well. The people I have dealt with are very knowledgeable and they have such a wide array of products. A lot of my friends, all with different skin (obviously!!), really like their products as well. I would give it a shot if you can!
