The idea had some merit, it was quick way to get cash in the hands of the hurricane victims. But as we found out the minuses outweighed the pluses. I can only hope that a different plan has been worked out for the next time something like this happens. The problem last time is the process was rushed.

It's been a year and a half since Katrina and New Orleans hasn't done a thing to help themselves. I was there three weeks after Katrina hit to settle claims and trying to help and all I got was spit on by the locals. If anyone wants to know why New Orleans is the crime capital of America with a highest murder rate of any major city in the world just take a trip down there and see for yourself. Their mayor should be in prison. Talk about corruption, that scum bag is the king of crime. All those people want is a hand out, not a helping hand.

Not heard about that one but where was the Govt. and why was their response so slow? $1000 debit cards will not help, it was a disgraceful lack of leadership and an abandonment of citizens. All, the same the majority weren't white middle class Americans so why would the govt care

It was a bandaid fix. And the blame game was a diversionary tactic. And the rebuilding of America will always take second place (or third) to the political agendas of a President who doesn't care for his nation.
