Johnny who? If Johnny from The Outsiders then before he was injured in the fire at the church his life was pretty bad. He was abused at home (I think) He ran away a lot. He was beat up by the Socs. Almost killed.

If Johnny is from the Dalton Trumbo's book, "Johnny Got His Gun", then his life was fairly ordinary and is explicated in Johnny's memories while lying the hospital. The book never describes how he was injured.
