A Prayer for Owen Meany by John Irving.
It's about a boy named Owen, who believes that he is God's instrument. He kills his best friend's mother with a baseball, yet the two of them remain best friends. John doesn't believe at first that Owen is God's instrument, but by the end of the book, he fully believes... but it's just too late.
It's the book that made me a much more religious person than I was before. It's the book that makes the quote "Faith and prayer; that's all it takes" come into mind whenever I'm going through tough times. It's my favorite book, and it's really funny at times, but it's also sad, and it's very spiritual.
I highly recommend it.

Other than the holy scriptures themselves, which you can never beat, I think the latest book by Denis Towers is possibly the best, and most penetrating work I have seen for many a long year.
It's called, "TWO BIRDS ... ONE STONE!!", published by Xulon Press.
It not only disproves Evolution, categorically...
But for the very first time in History, it actually scientifically proves the Adam and Eve story!!
As far as I know, that has never been done before.
It also virtually proves that we were created in the image and likeness of God.
It also brilliantly answers that age-old question:
"Why does God not stop crime, pain and suffering?"
It is really a major Breakthrough - this book - as far as I can see.

Other than the Bible, the best spiritual book I have ever read is "Orthodoxy" by G.K. Chesterton because even though it was written in the early 20th century it still clearly defines most of the case for traditional Christianity today.

Definitely the Bible, where else do you get everything from wisdom in living, history, poetry and everything else all in one and grow closer in your relationship to God. If you are thinking in terms of other spiritual books though I really enjoyed books by Andrew Murray, haven't read any in a while but at one stage I was really devouring them as they are very "meaty" without being too difficult to read. I particularly remember enjoying "Humility" but there were also a number of other excellent books by him.

Zen in the Art of Archery, Eugen Herrigel
When I was a kid, it was one two books that my karate sensei required us to read.
The other was The Book or Five Rings, Mushashi Miyamoto.
Both books, in particular the first helped me to understand what the real point of my training was - to defeat the one true enemy - myself.
Still have both books and still re-read them on occasion over 25 years later.

The Bible, because it is like a manuel to life that god gave us. It tells us what to do to lead a happy life and what to avoid doing so that we can stay living in a happy life. I hate that people created different versions of the Bible, though. It makes me so mad that people aren't being taught the truth.
