Marriage is a lot more than falling in love. Ideally, the two of you try to meet similar life goals and support each other physically, mentally, emotionally and spiritually throughout a life that you share together. Sure, it can begin with romantic love, but eventually it's supposed to deepen into profound friendship and companionship which you are both devoted to. I think when people think that marriage is only about romance, it's just about a guarantee that they're going to fall out of love and get divorced.

That seems to be a fairly decent analogy. However, in some cases marriage seems to limp along with the injuries sustained after the recovery from the fall so much worse then climbing out.

I don't think divorce means you stop loving or caring for someone..it just means that life is taking you in two different directions.

In a life that averages lets say 80 years, there is not one person that stays in your life from the second you are born until the day you die. Well, its not likely anyways.

Life is about change, experiences and adventures. Even if it means going on without someone.

Depends. If you fall in love and get married, and then get divorced in some cases it could mean you cant live together...you can still love the person, but you are not compatible enough to live together forever, but still can be good friends!

I have never been married, so i can use my imagination instead . Yes i agree, divorce would be a very unpleasant experience indeed, so it would feel like climbing out. I hope you feel better soon. I have you in my thoughts very day. Take it easy babe, ( HUGS).

the chemicals that initially form the sensation of "love" have worn off, usually this happens within the first 8-10 months, then you are with the person for other reasons.

financial, comfort, simplicity, or true compatibility.

if one of the first 3 are compromised, divorce is the usual route of action.
