Okay, when I met my friend Elsa* she was quiet, she'd talk and stuff. I found out a few months ago that she is (was) cutting herself. What can I say to help her? I think she may have been abused!??!

*Not her real name...

She just wants to feel loved and accepted. Be there for her and introduce her to some of your friends. Hang out with her. Tell her she's original and has some great outlooks on life. Encourage her to do more of the things she likes. Make her feel good about herself.

First off, saying "my friend went EMO on me" doesn't sound so considerate. And if you found out a few months ago that she was cutting herself, you should have said something. It doesn't sound like you really know her that well. And you should talk to her. I had a friend who did this once. But she was different than this....and I knew her a little better....good luck though.

just becoz she cuts herself does not make her emo, it means she has some real problems that she needs to address.. start by asking her why she is doing it, and then dont judge just listen. and then if there is something more u can think of doing to help her once u find out the real reason why she is doing it then u can actually help. but until u know the root of the problem it can not be helped by you.

ok, i have a friends named sarah and she began cutting herself. if shes your real friends, she'll know that your really concerned(i know it sounds corny but whatever)and that you dont want her hurting herself over something stupid(exspecally if its a guy), if its family thats wrong, then try to get her to talk to you(corny but works)because maybe you can make a little better so she doesnt have to hurt herself to feel good.

just talk to her let her know that you're her friend and that you care about her. take her to a mutual talk place (confessions at a catholic church)it would give her a chance to express herself. and pray, believe me prayer changes things, be selfless, pray for your friend that she finds peace of mind and pray that you would be able to direct her in the right path.

Peace be with you.
GOD Bless you.

Report her to the authorities at once. She sounds like a very dangerous person and she may murder you if you're not careful.
