Everyone warns me that 1993 was a horrible model year due to some mechanical issue(s). Why, what happened?

Vettes are like computers the more changes made in the new model the more bugs ( and the older the model the more bugs )

BUT the 1993 was NOT one of these model years so no worse than a 1992 ( not up to current standards - and the ones with optional suspensions had an atrocious ride )

In high school I carpooled with a guy in a 1993 vette. It had about 30K on it and the only real problems where with the dashboard lighting on the radio sometimes going in and out, but never any mechanical problems. BTW the car was extremely fast and was a huge chick magnet. I wouldn't have believed that women would actually be attracted to it until I saw it happen for myself.
