They both are MVP candidates, and in my opinion should be starting.

Because even us as white people have a hard time understanding that some white guys are better than some black.

White America was too busy voting for Bush! You see how THAT worked out! I filled out a ballot last time I went to a game, I voted for both Dirk and Steve. I guess Black America's vote doesn't count for anything either (still). The entire starting lineup was voted in by Chinese voters online. And they don't like Germans or Canadians.

Was this a real question? How sad. No wonder Rush Limbaugh remained relevant after the first time he opened his mouth!

Although the AllStar game is called the "All Star" game, the players who get the most votes arent always MVP candidates. Its a popularity contest, as well as how fun the player makes the game.

People vote for big names. Dirk and Steve do not have very big names although they are the two main MVP candidates.

because the all star game is not what it used to be, its a joke now. its just one big popularity contest. i mean shaq is now the starter after missing all those games? give me a break. obviously nash should be in there in place of tmac since tmac missed all those games as well. and guys like tony parker and ginobili and stackhouse and terry get more votes than baron davis? baron is healthy this year and is putting up great stats. plus the west is just too talented compared to the east. guys like marion will get snubbed in the west, theres too many to chose from.

Maybe it doesn't have to do with color, Maybe white america feels that the guys starting are the better more exciting players, (people who they really want to see) !!

By your logic, they shouldn't have, since neither Nash nor Nowitzki is American.
