Lots of years of negative press. Lots of years of negative politicing
by the Dems. In two years, if the Dems win the white house, then it will be four years of continuing Bush bashin. The Dems won't get anything done, because they will blame Bush. It's been the same shi-t for all of my 40+ years, and I expect nothing different from my government or the citizens of my country in the future.

The Associated Press it turns out posted false stories about some atrocities in Iraq.. Well, over sixty something maybe more.. You don't see that on the evening news.. Propaganda and half truths hurt any war effort. Once the country turns against the effort and gives in to defeat it has a definite effect on the troops..
And the Iraqi people :
Brig. Gen. Abdul-Karim Khalaf, spokesman for the ministry, said Thursday that the purpose of the special monitoring unit was to find fabricated and false news that hurts and gives the Iraqis a wrong picture that the security situation is very bad, when the facts are totally different."

How can you possibly think that the public, and most of the House and Senate, are turning against Bush's War because of undermining by the media? Have they been staging the reports and film from Baghdad we see every day? Have they been just making up the numbers of dead and wounded? Have they just been spinning a tale about how Iraq is in chaos? Is Bush succeeding in Iraq and and we all, which includes the people, the House, the Senate, the Joint Chiefs, the Study Group, etc. just somehow missed it? Please, be serious.

Undermining by the press? I guess you never watch Fox News. When this war first started, dissidents were made out to be unpatriotic. Michael Moore was demonized by news stations for his documentaries. You couldn't give a different opinion on Iraq without getting yelled down by Bill O'Reilly (who even screamed down a guy who was against the war but lost his OWN FATHER in 9/11) or Sean Hannity. You are one of the most ignorant people on these postings with your right-leaning political questions that aren't really questions, but statements made from your own judgemental, black and white thinking.

The majority of Americans supported the invasion of Iraq following 9/11 because of President Bush and his administration scaring the heck out of us all with the so-called intelligence that now we know was bogus.

Compared to past wars, namely Vietnam, the war in Iraq is quite sanitized when it comes to the media.
We never see flag-draped coffins and we do not see the actual fighting in Baghdad or dead bodies in the streets.
It's simply not safe for journalists in Iraq.

I do not believe that the media covers the true horrors and tragedy of this war.

Americans care more about American Idol than they do the Iraq War.

I am so saddened and frustrated every time that I hear of our troops dying, and I feel it's very wrong that we are not aware of those who return that are maimed and severely injured.

I hate this war in Iraq and I pray everyday that someone will find a solution and bring our troops home.

No, the president's historical record over there probably has been the undermining factor. I always thought he worked for the American people...but only 33% of us agree with him. In a court of law, that's enough to get him the death penalty. Glad he set me straight by telling me "he's the decision-maker." Where'd I get the idea he was supposed to be the "voice of the people?"

The Iraq we had in Vietnam weakened us so much that it delayed the collapse of the Soviet Union by twenty years.

Public opinion is changing because we are in a war against one small third world nation and it has lasted longer than WWII.
