Yeah i hate it too especcially when the put him on the cross on that field that was totally humanist. I think it stinks. Lois and Clark was much better, even if it's old. and the NEW Superman movie is SO BORING. SO FREAKIN" BORING!!!!! I could only watch it for 5 minutes then I fell asleep and it gave me stomach cramps. Ugh.

Go head, give me a thumbs down here but I like Smallville.

sure it's not following any storyline from the comics anymore, but really if it did why would I bother watching - I mean I'd have already read the comics. And while the story lines may jump around from time to time the character developments are pretty creative. I find that I'm not watching for the plot more so than the character development.

First, I loved the idea that Lex was genuinely trying to be Clark's friend. If anything the only reason Lex is a bad guy is because Clark wouldn't trust him... Through the whole show people have shut him out because he was a Luther. Eventually Lex simply became the villain that everyone was perceiving him.

Second, I like the way they are handling Lois Lane. She's not only the type of character that I now think would actually fall for someone like Superman but she's so far dated Aquaman and Green Arrow. We know the only reason is because she's being set up as "the girlfriend of the superhero".

Plus I like how Clark is being treated. It's NOT a show that's about Superman at all, it's about this guy named Clark Kent who has all these powers and helps people a lot. It may make the character of Superman more human but personally I think that just make him more identifiable.

It's a fun show that's not meant to be taken seriously in the first place. When comic books first came out they were simply FUN - go find one from the 1940's (Superman started in 1938 with Action comic #1). DC was started by the same people behind "Fun Comics" (the actual name) and this show takes us back to that origin but updates it for the new era. But again, if it followed the same storyline as the comics - why would I want to watch it? That's like reading a book before you see the movie... you'll just end ruining the surprise endings for yourself.

I actually stopped watching it for a while. There was too much crap between Lana and Clark, and not "Superman" stuff.
It was getting stooopit! I couldve written the script:

[Enter Lana, up to Clark's loft in the barn]
CLARK: Lana!
LANA: Hi Clark.
CLARK: Whaddaya doing here?
LANA: I thought we were going to be honest with each other.
CLARK: [shuffles feet]... Well...whaddaya mean?
LANA: Clark, i know you have this secret...

BLAH BLAB BLAH BLAB BLAH..
That was the same opening and closing sequence over and over! And yeah youre right, Lana dating Lex is so freakin unbelievably STUPID, only because good people dont do that!
You KNOW theres bad blood between the friends, so you date the other one?!?! Then you dont know who youre in love with??

At least last night's episode was pretty cool.
But its getting seriously annoying. I watch it now just to check out Lois (and i pray theres another bikini episode somewhere soon).

they put the story in a more modern environment and made it much more engaging. i assume your biggest beef is that they put lex in there, but he's the best part of the show. it's intelligently written and finely acted (for a show that's basically dawson's creek, except that now dawson is throwing cars around). it's a new take and it's for young people and people who are open-minded and not afraid of things changing. i mean, come on, they still keep true to the basic story. maybe everyone he battles in the comics has some power based on some freak accident involving experimental chemicals and laboratories, but they can't do that for every foe, every show. better to just say "meteor freak" and get on with the story. if you like superman and you don't like that show, maybe you should look inward at your own issues.

Sorry yet I even ought to disagree with you. if you're able to except the fantasy component of it the coach itself is exceptionally strong. i imagine that they do a unprecedented pastime on coming up each and every of the characters. Clark Kent, John and Martha, Lex, Lana, Lois. And the characters that they have got further to the blend like Lionel Luthor and Chlo meld o.k. and do not detract from the merely correct tale line. I also imagine the tale has developed with the help of the seasons o.k. and they have maintained continuity and saved up the leisure high quality as well. i in my opinion seem ahead to seeing the position they take the tale next.

I enjoy that "stupid show" how can it destroy superman's story...when it is everything up to Superman. It gives you more depth on how he became Superman in the first place, what he went through discovering his different powers, and if Christopher Reeves supported the show and even guest stared on it several times before he passed they must be doing something right.
