He is shy. He hasnt approached me at work yet. (we work in different departments) We talked once, and he would laugh nervously and since I've caught him looking at me a lot then looking away when I catch him. Why hasnt he approach me since? He is extremely shy but I want to get to know him better.

I was once so very shy too and while I absolutely adored a few girls that I knew. I just couldn't work up the courage. I felt hopeless. Some of them I would be friend, feeling safe with being close yet not expressing my feelings. Part in fear of rejection and part in feeling so inadequate that I could not possible be "good enough" for her

He lacks confidence in him self and has a low self esteem. Get in his space a little at a time. Complement him in subtle ways, once he catches on, he will slowly come out of his shell and be eager to please you. ... like a puppy!
If he is anything like I was and still am... we need reassurance to build our confidence. We also need a genuine person to brake through the fear of rejection. In return you will likely find a man that will be committed, warm, loving and affectionate.
Nothing wrong with being a little bold in taking the first step... Ask him out on a date.

He could be attracted to you, however he might be in a relationship which may be holding him back. Give him some time and if he is really interested he'll take the initiative. Even if he's shy , believe me he will make a move sooner or later. So sit back and be patient and above all smile every time you see him to let him know you notice him.

He is just shy, try going up to him first and seeing if he would want to go out with you and some friends. That way he might feel more comfortable getting to know you with other people.

thats the thing about shy people we are actually waiting for the a contact and still takes time to break through our defenses,so go and make contact again and have patience and only time will tell.

Ask him if he wants to hang out sometime. If he is shy, maybe he wants to be 100% certain that you really are interested before asking you out.
