",i selected the answer i did on, the basis, that it reflected my own opinion.however that opinion does not reflect my beliefs , in that i believe in equal rights for all"

Sorry, but how can reflect your opinion if it doesn't reflect your beliefs?

It appears to mean that the poster believes that equal rights for all makes sense as a principal, but in practice he finds the need to make exceptions, and is happy that someone has reinforced his prejudices in that regard.

Which is why, in my opinion, the asker should not be the one to solely decide which is the best answer. If we are to merely tell the questioner what he or she wants to hear, we are essentially wasting our time here.

Since the answer was selected to reflect their own opinion, it would be an opinionated answer. One can believe in equal rights for all, but have an opinion against a certain class or group of people. Although it is good that they can recognize that they are opinionated despite having a certain belief, they chose an opinionated answer instead of one that was closer to their beliefs.

Let's say that I think that people who like the color red should have equal rights and should not be discriminated against, but I also do not want someone who likes the color red moving into my neighborhood. My belief would be for equal rights, while my opinion is that I want them to have those equal rights somewhere else than around me.

Well, I feel you are conflicted. I don't understand how your opinion doesn't reflect your beliefs. You should re-evaluate your beliefs otherwise you are kidding yourself.

I can't even read that, let alone guess its meaning.

Who knows what they're trying to say, but it seems like some weird kind of meandering oxymoron to me.
