How come after Grenouille leaves Baldini, Grimal and that man in Grasse, they all died or disappeared. I haven't seen the movie yet, it doesn't seem to be playing in lots of theaters in New York. Does anyone know if Grenouille has some power (besides the gift of extraordinary sense of smell) as to why everyone he comes into contact that has helped him reaches a tragic end?

First, I'm as puzzled as you are about all the deaths. It's even a bit funny (ha-ha). As if the author had a fiendish sense of humor.

Second, I think there is no special "power" or even involvement by Grenouille. The people come to their bad ends after he leaves them. And the deaths are all "natural:" the collapse of a building, a storm on a mountaintop.
