Some good ways to work on high notes (aside from working with a live singing teacher!!) are to try and place your voice in the nose and mask- use the resonance available in your sinuses and keep your soft palate raised (you can feel this action just before you yawn)- and try to support the sound which means you want to engage your muscles around your waist to keep the ribcage expanded so you have the air and control to go for those notes..
Most importantly do NOT strain the muscles around your neck and throat... although our voices come from the vocal folds, they're the last thing you should ever think of while you're singing or you'll tire yourself. And don't force your voice into anything higher than what's comfortable or you will cause damage. Don't spend too much time on your higher range until it starts to feel natural. Give yourself time.
Some exercises that might help: humming softly in your upper register, very fast staccato ascending arpeggios, "whooping" like an owl, up and down very smooth glissandos

Basically, it's practice. If you want to sing higher notes, you will have to train in order to stretch your vocal chords. You also need to have proper breathing techniques, like breathing through your diaphram and not your throat.

Like any other thing, practice. i am naturally a low bass, but i forced myself to sing tenor for a few years, and my range definitely increased during that time. really what i sudjest is sing things higher than you normally would (in like a choir or something) and in time, your voice will adjust. either that or practice regularly, forcing your voice to go higher than you normally would. hope that helps =) feel free to email me if you have further questions jeddek_again@yahoo.com

Practice, for me it always took going up and down the scale and basically pushing it until it came naturally, (push gradually, too much will mess up your vocal cords but I think you get what I'm saying)
It takes time, but you can get it. =)
