Living in Spain, have an obstetrics appointment...need to know what it is for?

Obstetrics is the study of the reproductive process within the female body, including fertilization, pregnancy and childbirth. Basically its an appointment you will have to make sure the baby is ok and that all is well.

In America there are two kinds of obstetrics, managed obstetrics and midwifery obstetrics. It is good to find out what kind of obstetrics you are getting. You really don't want managed obstetrics.

It's the medical field devoted to pregnancy and childbirth. Gynaecology is the female reproductive system in general - cervical smears, that sort of thing.

Its an OBGYN. Pap Smear, pregnancy, giving birth, etc. Women problems =)

That's your apointment with the OBGYN, or baby doctor, she'll care for you while your pregnant.
