Probably because they feel safe around gay males. A woman isn't worried that a gay male is going to come up to her with knuckles dragging on the ground, bash her on the head with a club, drag her to his cave and force her to procreate.

some of them do, yes, and yes to the guy above (blewboy333) they always generally seem nicer.
whenever I get a crush on a gay male, I always realize and leave it as that... its just a crush and it will go away, I don't act on it because I respect that they are gay.

Lets see, we WANT to hear what girls have to say, we think they're gorgeous (if they are) and don't mind telling them that, we don't pressure for sex, we love sharing secrets and life stories, etc. In other words, we're just like girlfriends, WITHOUT THE POTENTIAL JEALOUSLY! Its a win/win. We both get a friend who really doesn't need the other, but either way, we both enjoy the others company! Friendship without any pressure!

In my opinion it can simply be because the gay men are not hitting on them, are not trying to impress them, are open and friendly (on average) and are not (of course) only talking to them to get into their pants.
