Well it's just there are some GC games I would like to play and I have a classic controller so I was wondering whether you can use the classic controller for GAMECUBE games on the Wii...?

You don't need to, you can plug a GC controller into the "top" of the Wii.

No. The classic controller is used to play games from the NES, Super NES, N64 and so on that you downloaded to your system. You still need a regular Gamecube controller to play Gamecube games and a Gamecube memory card. The controller and card go in the top of the system. You will also need a Wii remote to select the game you want play.

Wii Classic Controller Pro Works great as a replacement for the original classic controller I bought in '07 when we got our Wii. Much more comfortable to hold.

I believe that the GC games are what the classic controller was basically designed for.
