It would need a lot of jewelery to make a bar of gold, and need somewhere to melt it. I mean, a normal ring only weighs about 5 grams. But, yes, you can do it. Try going to a jewelers if you have lots of gold jewelry you don't need.

Of course - ask any major jeweller. But remember that the resulting gold, even ignoring the charge for melting, will be worth much less than the existing jewellery, and then you will have the further charges for re-modelling the gold into a bar etc.

It is not that simple due to what else in mixed with the gold. Most people don't understand that 10 kt. gold is actually less than 1/2 gold content. Each item with different amounts of gold melt at different temperatures and the metals separate when melted some sink to the bottom, others go to the top. You need to really look into this more see a jeweler.

You can get gold melted down but I believe it is expensive.
You here of people getting inherited rings melted down and made into their own wedding rings

take it to your local jewler and they can have it melted down for you also there are alot of places that you can ship the gold to and they can make it into something and ship it back to you just look them up on the internet
