1) What is some guy is walking around buck naked, and starts getting aroused when he sees a beautiful girl.... and she's only 14 years old. Bad news.
2) It's unsanitary. We wear underwear for a reason.
3) Many people are uncomfortable seeing other people naked.
4) According to generally accepted concepts of proper behavior, it is unseemly and lewd to be naked in public. Some people it "corrupts the public morals".
Since moving to Europe, my views regarding nudity and gender separation have eased somewhat. Some of the large gyms here have spa facilities where people, both men and women, go into the hot tub naked. Some people cover up with a towel when walking around. Others don't.
In my gym, a WOMAN cleans the men's locker room, so she sees all the guys getting dressed and showering. This still unnerves me. I would rather she wasn't there. It makes me feel self-conscious. And if I were still 18, I might not be able to control getting a "woody" when she'd come into the showers.
So, there's lots of good reasons.

Here goes. Way back when there were standards of conduct based on historical events. It is sort of like, why do men wear ties or why do we remove our hats during the national anthem or why do we wear clothes. These are social norms. They are accepted standards of behavior that we have come to accept. There are often no good reasons.
In this case hitsorically our bodies have remained areas of privacy. It is no different than asking why can't we have sex in public. And since the display of our beautiful and not so beautiful bodies violates these norms our law makers have decided it is a law violation. [This simplifies a subject books are written on]
There are areas in the country that feel otherwise. Since ist is often left up to local control, the town of Brattleboro VT has decided that nudity will not be illegal. Check the web for the stir last fall.

in one be conscious "prejudice". there is not any rational reason. There are worldwide places in Europe the place nudity is a superb. case in point in Spain a police officer became prosecuted for harassing a guy who became cycling nude via a city. Attitudes have outcomes and the implications of prudery are horrendous. the excuses are properly understood. AIDS kills people. Ever stopped to ask your self why a teenager contained in usa is a lot greater probable to catch it than a teenager in maximum ecu worldwide places? Shoot a infant by skill of accident and that's a severe criminal offence. What ought to or no longer that's called while somebody motivate attitudes ensuing in youngsters countless situations greater probable to have an abortion, approximately ten situations greater probable to alter into pregnant, countless tens of time greater probable to catch a sexually transmitted an infection. greater eating subject concerns, sexually lively youthful, greater promiscuous, the checklist basically is going on and on. greater prudish worse outcomes, often exceedingly so. Conversely there is no longer a shred of evidence that any one among any age is harmed by skill of nudity, the two their very own or different peoples. harm because of physique prejudice is harm because of the bias, no longer the physique.

Public nudity is illegal because our society as a WHOLE does not accept it.
Maybe when the older generations are gone and morals have dropped low enough you won't care if someone is outside committing lewd and sexually overtoned acts in the presence of you and your family members!
Do I have a problem with places where it's condoned or allowed? No...provided it is secluded from the general public where it's not condoned by society!

Because we live in a sexually repressed society that is so backwards that it's ok to show on television or video game a graphic murder or rape, but nudity is censored. Where's the justice?
