pajero 2.5TD 1990 automatic. do i leave the overdrive on all the time or use it as and when its needed?

we have just bought mitisbushi pajero and it doesnt have a manual if anybody can help it would be great.

my Nissan manual say leave it off in town and in the on position on highway or interstate or you can do i like do with my Nissan and leave it on all the time
