Our current political and campaign finance system is simply an open and legal system of bribery of public officials.

There's billions of wasted dollars in the health care system. Every one of those wasted dollars is someone's profit.

They bribe the officials to maintain the status quo and get wealthy, nothing changes, and people don't get decent health care.

Probably because NOTHING is free... someone will have to pay for this miracle insurance. Who do you propose pays the BILLIONS of dollars such a program will cost? We're already in debt, social security is ruined, and Medicaid is existing on a shoestring.

America is founded on principles of freedom and capitalism... it goes against everything we believe to have a universal healthcare system. Plus, we tend to be better than other countries -- have you ever tried to get chemo in Canada? Oh, right, you can if you wait 9 months. Of course, you'll probably be dead by then...

The way you phrased your question leads me to believe you have no concept of how complicated such a thing as "free" insurance is.

There is no such thing as "free" health insurance. Ask the people in Canada who have 60% of their paychecks taken for that wonderful "free" healthcare. Wake up. There is no such thing as free healthcare except for the homeless and those who don't pay taxes. I'll keep the insurance I have right now thank you very much.

1.) It isn't free anywhere. It is paid for by taxes, which means the citizens of the country pay for it, wether they use it or not.

2.) Most countries don't have it. Only a few in Europe.

3.) Most Americans don't want it, and so our representatives in the government have not forced it upon us....yet.

4.) It's a bad idea. If I wash my hands, I pay for people that get sick because they don't. If I eat right and exercise, I pay for people that don't. If I engage in safe sex, I pay for people that don't. It is a dumb and unethical idea. Why would anyone want to enslave themselves in such a horrible system?

Not the only country, but I think the American dream ends like Russia... As the middle class dissipates, things will get worse until we have the next civil war. The world is due for another major war. Eliminate problems with gays, poverty, racism, and crime all at once.

because we are free to be sick, free to be poor, and free to live nowhere....but, how free are we to walk into a government building without being searched or how free are we to innocently walk down the street and have a rooftop camera zoom in on us and scan and match our face with files.
