I am considering three vacuum's-
Infinity NV31 Upright Vacuum and
Roomba Sage for Pets and
Roomba Discovery for Pets.
Does anyone have any experiance with these vacuum's? What makes the Sage different than the Discovery (besides price)? Has anyone bought the Infinity NV31? I have a Golden Retriever with A LOT of hair. I need something that will pick it up. I am not paying for the Dyson so no need to mention that.
Also, has anyone tried the Scooba? Does it work and does it pick up pet hair or does it get clogged? Thanks!

I know you said not to mention the Dyson, but the animal Dyson really would be the best bang for the buck. We have a Dyson that we bought at Kohl's. I waited until I had a 30% off coupon and they were having a 15% off sale. I was able to use both discounts and ended up paying about $250 for this. I swear by it too. Look to see if you have a Kohl's near you and see what kind of sales they are having.

I love this vacuum! I know you mentioned that you don't really want to spend too much, however, you get what you pay for.
This thing is amazing and will pay for itself over time. I was on my fourth vacuum when I finally decided to go all out and but a Miele.
If you figure you pay, on average, about $200 per vacuum....I spent $800 over the course of five years.
This one you only pay for ONCE and it will last you forever. The suction is so powerful that you don't even need to use the attachments to get into the corners. I have two longhaired dogs that shed like crazy and this picks it all up with little effort. AND it's by far better than the Dyson.
Good luck!

I haven't tried any of the above, yet I can tell you from experience, get a Dirt Devil. They are really cheap, considering other options. I have the enVision and I also have pets, and a messy husband, and it picks up everything in it's path. I should also tell you that I live in military housing therefore I didn't know how the people lived before me, and you should have seen the dirt fly. It's bagless so you don't have to worry about the extra costs for buying losts of bags. And it has mulitple filters, so it sucks out all the small stuff too. I hope this helps you out.

I honestly have never heard of those vacuums you mentioned. However, we used to have three collies, all indoor dogs. As you can imagine, dog hair was everywhere. We used a Kirby and it did great! Had to keep the roller bar clear, but got the hair up!!

any vacuum should work fine if you use a pet hair release powder first.
