When are we as a nation (UK) going ?

EXACTLY.........we all just sit back and say..okay..do what you want cos we will let you DO what you want, tax us stupid and dictate every move we have to make, we are being totally controlled now, the government are even trying to control and monitor our computer habits for gods sake, photo ID for everything, even the mobile phone companys know when we leave the country, talk about big brother watching us, he has been for many years, perverts walk free and actually get air time on tv to, IMO, brag about how they got off with it, same goes for murderers, in my area I know for a fact that there were 3 paedophiles living nearby, they all had a house which overlooked 2 schools and a play park !!!! how can you trust a government that is so corrupt and have totally lost all perspective of reality, the need for power and money is destroying the nation and any confidence we have in them, how do we stand united and fight for our human rights when day by day they are being removed and superceded by immigrants human rights, criminals and junkies, dont forget, its our taxes that pay for them to live here, be in prison and supply their meth every day, its even supplied in prison, another form of controlling the nation, but you cant have a smoke without some weasel watching where you put your dog-end ....ppppffftttt...............did I answer your Q shredder or have I completely missed your point !!

UK was invaded by the French in 1066... -The British almost always had the best navy, except when they lost against the French navy in the American War of Independence and when their navy was constantly attacked by the French corsairs. However on land, Spain, France, and Germany always were more powerful. The superior British navy is the main reason the British Empire was the greatest in the world, even if other Empires, like the Spanish and French ones, were huge too. -In Europe, France has always been more powerful than the UK except after the defeat of Napoleon at Waterloo, where France had a hard time to become competitive again... -The UK doesn't always win over other European nations, it lost many times against France, its greatest enemy, (Hundred Years' War is the best example) and sometimes had to allie with other countries to defeat an enemy (in the Napoleonic Wars, the UK had to allie with 6 countries to defeat France, which was crushing every country for 18 years until the Russian invasion where Napoleon was defeated by the winter). -In WW1, the victory over Germany was more French than British. The conflict was located in France and there were more French soldiers (and more killed French soldiers) than British soldiers. Both countries needed the USA's help in the end. -In WW2, the UK was protected by the British Channel (like it has been many times in history) and resisted successfully to Germany, unlike France which was crushed and forced to surrender. However, resisting against an enemy doesn't make you better than any other country, particulary when there are logical reasons the country wasn't invaded. And without the help from the USA, the UK would probably have fallen....... -Now, France is more powerful than the UK militarily and Germany has a better economy, and the British economy is decreasing so much that the country might have to ask help from the IMF (again), unfortunatly... -The UK has the best music in the world ! However, French cinema is far more active than the British cinema, and in literature and art, many European nations are "better". -Other European nations do not envy UK in any way, at least the Western-European countries do not. -UK is considered in Europe to be the pet of the USA, whereas Germany and France are seen as the "core" countries by most of the Europeans. I do not want to insult the UK, I like the United Kingdom, but you question is really biased. UK is not the best nation in Europe because there isn't any best nation in Europe, major European powers have common history and culture. The UK is great, but speaking of "best" nation is stupid. However, you can say the UK is one of the greatest nations in Europe and even in the entire world ! (I speak a lot about France, simply because France is the eternal rival of the UK)
