If it has to be local, some place you can actually visit:
(1) a coffee shop, gallery, or community theatre where local artists share poetry, art, or theatrical or comedy performance
(2) a "Chinatown" district where there is authentic Chinese food and gifts you can buy, where the Chinese people really patronize the market (where the signs are in Chinese and the language is spoken there)
(3) another district where the businesses or population predominantly favors a certain language or culture, such as Mexican or Indian etc.
(4) a Buddhist temple or Muslim mosque where the services are given in the members' native language
