I lent my car to a friend for about 3 months, and now my brakes are shot. I'm wondering if it was caused by the way she drives (always pumping the brakes at lights, etc) or if it is probably just ordinary wear and tear. It irks me that the brakes did not seem bad when I lent it to her, but now they are completely ruined.
Just curious if I can give her a hard time for costing me $500+!!!

People can cause brakes to wear out prematurely by the way they drive. If she drives fast and comes up on lights and brakes hard this can happen. How many miles do you have on your car. Normally you can go from 40,000 to 60,000 miles before you need brake work.

there is quite some a risk issues that ought to reason you to leak brake fluid a number of them is a leaking caliper or brake line. frequently while a caliper leaks(and each so often a line) u dont ought to replaced the pads via fact fluid have been given on them yet I frequently sparkling them off with some brake purifier and spot if there ok from there; each and every so often they're to saturated to save. the terrific way you may tell whether that's a caliper or line is to look in case you spot fluid lines on between the wheels of take a glance in the back of them to work out the line and the interior the wheel. there is likewise another a risk issues that ought to reason the pedal to experience spongy or low to the floor, which consists of a bad grasp cyclender or air in the gadget, or undesirable brake booster. maximum of brake fluid leaks from older vehicals come from calipers or line, together as a bad grasp cyclender might reason a low or spongy pedal.

Two footed drivers will **** up brakes faster than anything else. If the rotors/drums are blue in color, someone is driving with the brakes on or trying to out-stop a brick wall.

It is possible that she rode the brakes (held the pedal down when driving) and caused them to wear. I guess my opinion is that when you lend something, you have to consider the possibility that this will happen and be prepared for it. To complain about it now seems foolish.
