They won't let you go off base! I have this problem too.
You will have to find out what time they office opens up the phone lines for acute appointments and lie to get in and then say... While I am here.... normally that will work or do a walkin for a well baby or check ups... message me if you like.

Check to see what kind of Tricare you are signed up for. It sounds like you are signed up for TRICARE PRIME, where they tell you which doctor you must see. You may want to change to TRICARE STANDARD. With Standard, you can go to any doctor you want. The down side is you have to pay a lot more deductible and co-pay.
Go to the link below and check out each of the three programs.

With Tricare prime you have to go on base. With standard or what they used to call Champus you can go to approved doctors out in town. Speak to doctors in advance and find out if they are taking anymore Tricare patients. Some doctors who are on lists only take a certain amount of Tricare patients.
Call the 800 number, not appointments but benefits and they will explain everything.

Good luck with that one. Knowing how Tricare is and operates, you should know to call far enough in advance to schedule. I never had a problem being seen, but then again we were in the Stumps, lol. Next time, try and get a back number for you pediatrician's nurse, corpsman, whatever. I actually talked my way into the Doc's acutal direct line. Try your best sneakiness, or just call and say the baby is sick, they'll see you. Best of luck. Sorry.

Sounds like you have tricare standard. Have you looked into the differences if you get tricare prime. I belive with prime you can go off base. Talk to your tricare representative. They should have an office on the base

I have the same insurance. They should have given you a list of all doctors that take the insurance, one and off base. If they didnt then you can just ask for one. Find a doc on there that you want and then call tricare to get a referral. I have an off base doctor cause i live off base, so if you live on base they might have different rules. Hope this helps

that is a huge change and that i'm effective he become joking about the "ought to are turning out to be a dogs instead" area... a minimum of ninety 9% joking. i do not imagine that being a be sure comes as obviously to a guy, because they do no longer have that bond, wearing the newborn round for 9 months. My husband acts an same way plenty, yet i recognize he loves our son. Is it stressful? certain! yet... quicker or later I overheard him chatting with his sister on the phone about the newborn, strong issues, yet then he stated he couldn't wait till he were given somewhat older and somewhat a lot less fragile. LOL i am going to understand in a fashion, yet I continuously experience responsible for letting myself imagine it. i do not want my infant to strengthen up too quick! He seems to imagine that issues receives extra reachable at the same time as the newborn receives older... he hasn't were given a clue!
