if yes, then which software does it use to play ? is it DVD player or Quicktime Player ?

Probably quicktime but I think you need a plugin for it that you can get from Apple. I am not positive though.

Yes it can.
I play it with quicktime.
I had the same trouble a couple of months ago, I know I had to install something like a plug in.

yes,quick time it self will play or u can load it to itunes,videos and play it frm there.it supports the codec .
(ilife ((itunes,idvd,imoviehd,etc..))is bundled with imac)
or u can use VLC PLAYER IT PLAYS ALMOST ANYTHING.
