Fact: Apple and several battery sites recommend charging fully the first time. But after the first 4-5 hour charge, the iPod's lithium battery does not suffer from memory (which is mostly urban myth anyway) and will not be harmed by partial charges at any time. Good luck!!

What type of battery does tne ipod nano take? Lithium ion or some variation? If so, then it is BETTER to charge often rather than discharge fully and then charge up.
I know that is contrary to the advice that has been given for years about rechageable batteries but lithium ion batteries do better when they aren't fully discharged.

No, you can charge where ever the battery bar is on the icon. I even leave my mini on the dock all day and night while I am not using it. So far, nothing bad has happened. If you are really concerned about this issue, call Apple, or go to the Apple Store nearest you.

Your Ipod battery basically has the same rule as cell phone batteries. If you charge them before the battery is dead it shortens the full life of the battery. Besure not to charge your battery before it is dead for at least the first 50 charges. After the first 50 charges the battery will hafe a longer life.

No I do that with my Mp3 all the time if you charge it before the battery runs out completely itll charge faster and you wont have to wait as long as you would have by charging if the battery was completely dead.

It does that in view which you overcharged the battery now, that is occurring to mine too yet mine lasts approximately 2 hours inspite of the shown fact that. you could ask Apple to interchange battery or you would be able to desire to besides upload extra money and get new one with the aid of fact an ipod's battery is approximately 70-80. you could upload few extra greenbacks and get kind new one.

No, it only damages the battery if you don't charge it properly the first time you use it. The first time you use it you need to drain it completely and then charge it fully.

it is usually the opposite. If you let the battery run out, and then charge it, it shortens the life of the battery - same for cell phones

no it's the opposite, if you want your ipod battery to last longer you should always charge it before it's dead.

Nope it isn't damaging to charge it at the last minute. Charging it when it is too late......well let's just say it could cause some problems
