It will come down to Roger Clemens signing with the Yankees, a very good possibility now that Randy Johnson has been traded away, or resigning with the Astro. If the Yanks overwhelm him as they are very able to do, look for him to take the money, but he'll also probably work out a deal where he won't have to report to them until sometime in May. If however, the Astros decide that he is worth the cash and they match NY's offer, he will pitch for them. Like anything else, He'll go where the money is.

I really wish he would make up his mind and end the drama, but like it or not, he is still one of the most elite pitchers. If Pettitte had stayed with the Astros, I would say that Clemens would most likely remain an Astro. However, now that Pettitte is back in Yankeeville, it really complicates things.

I think the Yankees and the Astros have the best of chance of signing him, but the Red Sox are still in the mix. Here are the pros:

YANKEES
1. BFF Pettitte is there
2. lots of run support
3. championships
4. money

ASTROS
1. home is where the heart is
2. son Koby is in the Astros' farm system
3. contract allowed him to skip road trips if he's not pitching
4. personal services contract once he retires
5. Drayton McLane will not be outbid
6. only play half a season

RED SOX
1. where it all began

I hope he stays loyal to Houston and finishes his career with us. Go 'Stros!

Well, Mike Clemons is the head coach of the Toronto Argonauts (Canadian football), but I don't know if he has a brother or a cousin Roger and whether or not that person plays baseball.

Roger Clemens, on the other hand, will make up his own mind when he's good an ready to do so. AKA, no matter which teams he is or might be thinking about, he will hold each of them hostage to his own whims. Why would any GM in his right mind bother with that capriciousness?

That is a very good question. Roger has yet to decide where he is playing. He has not turned down any offers. I would say his chances of returning to Houston are probably around 30%. His chances of going to the Yankees are about the same at 30%. I really doubt he joins the Red Sox, but being a Sox fan I would not mind it :)...I give them about a 10% chance. I also believe that he isnt even sure he is going to play. 30 % chance he retires. I really doubt he will make a decision anytime soon. It'll probably be right at the beginning of the regular season or the last week or so of spring training. No matter what team he will play for, despite his age, he will be a great addition.

If you ask me the odds are pretty slim.

Clemens has--as always--narrowed it down to the Sox, Yanks and 'Stros. However, only the Sox and Yankees offer a realistic shot at winning another championship before he retires.

Houston has been close the past three seasons, but slipped a little last year with Pettite and Clemens. I don't know if they have what it takes to even be a playoff contender. I realize they brought in Carlos Lee to help boost the awful offense, but I just don't know if it's enough.

The Yankees and Red Sox both look like they could be powerhouses and the addition of Clemens to either team would put them over the top and make that team the clear front-runner to win the World Series.

If Clemens joins the Astros, it only makes them a front-runner to contend for the Wild Card in the perpetually awful NL. I realize Clemens has tons of perks if he plays in Houston, but you know that both New York and Boston are willing to bend over backward to accommodate one of the greatest pitchers of all-time.

If Clemens does come back, expect it to be on the east coast and expect it to involve a very, very big paycheck.

The Astros have never given him run support. His lifetime 2 to 1 win loss ratio went up in flames last year even though he has an incredible ERA. The Yankees will give him two things that the Astros can't, run support and a chance a another world championship.

No, he is going to join the Yankees. There are many reasons why.
1.- His best friend, Pettitte, is on the Yankees
2.- He wants to go into HOF as a Yankee
3.- He wants to win a championship before he retires
4- He worn his Yankees World Champion Ring to a Awards Gala last week instead of his Astro's League Championship Ring.
5- Yankees will give him any amount of money that he wants

The most recent news is that if he plays it will more than likely be in New York.

Cano changing his number had nothing to do with it. Cano wanted a number that reminded him of Jackie Robinson the player he was named after. He took 24 which is 42 in reverse.

Clemens has been pitching to is son in warm up and is going to throw for real starting next week.

He's basically milky the media for attention in the meantime.
