If people hate America and Americans SO much why don't they just leave. I am so sick of driving in downtown LA and seeing nothing but Mexican flags everywhere. It is one thing to be proud of your heritage but another to openly insult the country that you are living in...if Mexico is SO great GO BACK!

Since its seems people are not quite understanding what I am saying let me put it like this. I'm Irish and German and I have pride for my hertiage, but at the same time I am PROUD of the country that I call home because of all the good things it's given my family. I have nothing against expressing your hertitage and pride, but at the same time if I was to go to ANY other country and only speak my language and only fly my flags chances are I wouldnt be living there anymore. Just my opinion and why is that so hard to understand? It's an opinion...........and I'm entitled to it!

I totally know what you mean. If I moved to, say, Norway, I wouldn't parade around a huge American flag; it'd be disrespectful. I would consider myself either a guest in their country, or somebody who is living there and trying to assimilate into their society - either way, hanging up a huge flag or refusing to learn their language is just arrogant and would be alienating myself.

There's nothing wrong with having pride in your heritage. I know a lot of guys that tattoo the Ireland flag on their arms. I've never heard anyone complain or object and suggest throwing them out back to Ireland. I have had many friends that put Greek flags, Russian flags and other flags on their cars because of pride in their heritage. Again, I don't hear anyone complaining about this. Correct me if I'm wrong but I've never seen Mexicans holding up signs saying they hate it here. I believe it bothers people so much because they can't stand having brown people around them. I guess it's too hard for you stupid people to understand that having a flag of another country is not an open insult to the country you are living in. I mean who really cares. I just came back from a vacation in Argentina and I saw the American flag everywhere there, I didn't see a bunch of Argentines freaking out about it.

Well said my friend. I'm glad you want to help your country. And I'm glad you've pointed out the hypocrisy of the Mexican Americans and illegal immigrants. I feel the exact same way you do. They are using immigration to promote racial hate. They disrespect the United States by displaying Mexican flags everywhere and refusing to learn the language of this land. They understand the risks in breaking the immigration laws of this land and cry racism when they are upheld. And most of all don't care about Mexico but about themselves because if they did they would fight for it's welfare.

Huh? But what about the people, who are patriotic and proud of their own contries, but are residing IN their own countries, and who hate america too? Would you rather say something about them? Because a very large majority of the american-haters are located outside america actually.

And as for the people whom u r blaming for the mexican flags.....haha....I've seen foreign flags flown in other countries as well, and that doesn;t mean that the immigrants who flew these flags hated the country that they had migrated to. And to you, that patriotic gesture is an open insult? LOL. The feeling they are trying to express is like the ones the american astronauts got when they landed on the moon to wave the US flag, which is pride and patriotism...and u dont seem to get that...I;ve never been to LA..but i;ve always known how to spot a bimbo if i saw one..

Most of the Mexicans you see in LA probably do not intend to stay in the US. They make money, since they can make a great deal more here for there work, and send it home. Then return when they can. Why do you say they hate the US ? Just becasue they have pride for their country and heritage doesn't necessarily mean that they hate American citizens or the US.

I understand and agree completely!
They only do this because here in America we allow people to express their opinions. If they would try HALF the things in their home countries that they do here some of them would be jailed or even killed.
But, in MY humble opinion, the problem is MORE with our government allowing ILLEGALS to be so blatant! Why is it that they feel so entitled to the right to protest?! (OR the right to use our schools and hospitals, etc..., etc..., etc...) Why haven't they been arrested and deported?! Where is INS when you need them?!
It all boiles down to the same lesson we here in the New Orleans area learned during and after Katrina................THE GOVERNMENT (FEDERAL AS WELL AS STATE) CAN'T BE TRUSTED!!

What is American culture anyway? This nation is made of up of those who are immigrants. I'm not big on flags but I don't take offense when some fly them. You should be PROUD that in America, this is not considered an issue. Can you imagine an Armenian flying his colors in Turkey? He'd be assasinated. We do not want to be that retarded!

It doesnt bother me at all when someone who wants to live in the usa for whatever reasons, goes through the proper steps and legalities to become a us citizen, works for a living, learns english, pays taxes, and doesnt collect government assistance. Wherever they are from, if they do that, that can fly whatever flag they want at their new home that THEY are paying for (not me). But to sneak over here and work for a week at some fruit orchard and then take that money and sneak back over, and then ***** and moan while you are here? those people can go to hell. they are frikkin criminals. its illegal to unlawfully enter this country. period. why the hell should they get preferential treatment for breaking our laws??

That's a very broad statement.........could be those people are showing their hertiage pride, not condemning Americans. But, for the people of all races that hate America, I agree....go back to where you came from and tell me it's better. But if you must stay here, can you at least SPEAK the language?

If you go to another country, don't you think you would have the same pride also? It happens to everyone. For example, if you used to live in New York and you moved some place else far away, of course you would have that New York pride, but on the other side, you are trying to embrace your new home.

You're just a bitter person.

I think it depends on how you see it. Many people like America and it's people, but hate the government, as well as their own which is proly what brought them here in the first place. Many might see a lfag as a symbol or the people, where others see it as government. I guess it just depends on one self.
