*Note* I am not in any way mocking mental illness. Just curious, that's all.

not necessarily. if you have it in your head that you are crazy, then you can make your mind start to believe it, then you could go crazy. but at the same time if you think your crazy then that means you have an idea of what crazy is and what not crazy is and if what you do is crazy then you are choosing to be crazy. I think true craziness is just doing what you do cause it make sense to you, but others just cant understand what your doing because its not what a sane person would do.

By the way i think everybody is a little crazy. and everyone has crazy thought. its when you start acting out your crazy thoughts, and start causing harm to yourself or others that will get you into trouble.

It most likely can do just that; we can trick our minds into a lot of things. Just thinking about this question is making me a little crazy! But really...a good friend of mine tends to say that many aspects of mental illness stem from spiritual issues, but since this isn't the category for that I won't mention it further.

"Crazy" is probably a relative term too....but I know what you mean ;)

If an individual truly believes he/she is crazy, then they will appear to be depressed, anxious, or idiosyncratic. "Crazy" is not a clinical term and is typically not used any longer in a constructive way. Someone who claims to be crazy and sincerely will not change their mind about this definitely will appear eccentri at the very least.

Your question reminds me of the "catch 22" situation. I don't remember the exact quote, but it goes something like this:

If you think that you might be crazy, you are probably not

If you think that your are crazy, you might be

If you think that it is a certainty that your not crazy, it is a certainty that you are

I think if you actually question whether you are crazy or not, suggests to me that you are not. I doubt if a crazy person would question it...wouldn't they be too crazy to know the difference?

Just wondering. :)
