No one game him a chance. He was a good guy and good teammate and was great when he actually played. But they never gave him a shot.

Are you Ryan Leaf?

Honestly...Were there two QB's named Ryan Leaf?...If so are you talking about the one from Washington State who couldn't even beat those pitiful Michigan Wolverweenies in the Rose Bowl?....The one who spiked the ball on the last play as the clock wound down instead of throwing a pass?

Mr. Intelligent?...The space cadet?...The one who never did a thing in the NFL?...Who was a cancer every year he was a pro player?...THAT Ryan Leaf?

Is this a joke?

There may have never been a more wasted draft pick than RL.

The air used to call his name was a total waste!

EVERYONE gave him a chance...He couldn't miss!!!...He was a terrible teammate and everybody HATED him...When he played he couldn't move the team or the football...He couldn't have QB'd the Chargers under any conditions...Even if the other team left the field!

THAT Ryan Leaf?

There must be two of them...The one I know was a complete waste of time, talent and breath!

Yes...I am angry about it...I also thought he couldn't miss and when the Colts went for Manning, I rejoiced for the Chargers.

This must be some kind of joke!

The San Diego Chargers, Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Dallas Cowboys and Seattle Seahawks all gave him a chance from 1998 to 2002. In 10 games his rookie season, Leaf threw 2 touchdown passes and 15 interceptions, passing for 1,289 yards with a 45.3 percent completion rate, and a paltry quarterback rating of 39. After being waived by San Diego, Leaf was claimed by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, however, Leaf's wrist still had not healed, and he refused to have surgery despite doctors' strong recommendations, so they cut him. Leaf attempted a comeback with the Dallas Cowboys, but he failed his first physical and had some trouble passing the second due to his wrist. The Cowboys released him in May 2002, after he had appeared in four games — all losses — throwing for 494 yards with one touchdown and three interceptions.

many gave him a chance but he was to stubborn to just get his wrist fixed.

I suppose you meant overrated instead of underrated, in which case, I forgive you. Ryan Leaf was the biggest bust of all time right next to Brian Bosworth. The only difference is Ryan Leaf never did any movies.

You must be a Coug...

Is this a serious question? Surely you meant to say 'most OVERrated of all time' because last time I checked he was hanging out on the sidelines at OU in Eugene, OR cheering on the Ducks and his career had crashed in flames... so not only is he a lousy QB but a traitor as well as there is definitely something wrong with a Coug hanging out in Eugene... oh, then again, who would want to go back to Pullman and hang out??

Go DAWGS!!

NO! He was a horrible guy, always got into trouble, had a horrible attitude, I read a book on the Chargers and they started Leaf and he sucked! He was NOT good, was NOT nice, was NOT a good team mate. End of this ridiculous discussion.

No he's not underrated. He was a great college QB, but he was a nut case in the pros.

Hi Ryan,

Long time no see, but if you actually think about it three teams at least gave you legimate shots and you didn't make the cut.
