DESERTS: 5 largest
1). Sahara - (Subtropical desert) Northern Africa. 3,500,000 sq miles
Morocco, Western Sahara, Algeria, Tunisia, Libya, Egypt, Mauritania, Mali, Niger, Chad, Ethiopia, Eritrea, Somalia
2). Arabia - (Subtropical desert) Southwestern Asia - 900,000 sq. miles
Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Qatar, United Arab Emirates, Oman, Yemen.
3). Gobi - (Cold winter desert) Mongolia and Northeastern China - 500,000 sq. miles
4). Patogonian - (Cold winter desert) Southern Argentina - 260,000 sq. miles
5). Great Victoria - (Subtropical desert) Australia - 250,000 sq. miles
northern portion of the Western Desert
Botswana, South Africa, Namibia
NOTE: Polar regions are also considered to be deserts. This therefore, replaces the above order to:
1). Antarctic - (Polar region) Antarctic - 5.5 million sq. miles
2). Arctic - (Polar region) Artic - 5.4 million sq. miles.
U.S., Canada, Greenland, Iceland, Norway, Sweden, Finland, Russia
3). Sahara
4). Arabia
5) Gobi
I personally go along with this latter list since all types of deserts are listed according to their sizes. The questioner does not clarify as to what type of desert was in their mind when they asked the qestion. Deserts are generally divided into 4 categories and so it is with this in mind that I have complied this 2nd list
Polar Regions - are also deserts since all the moisture in these areas is locked up in the form of ice.
Subtropical desert - these are the hottest, with parched terrain and rapid evaporation
cool coastal deserts - located within the same latitudes as subtropical deserts, where the average temperature is much cooler because of frigid offshore ocean currents
Cold winter deserts - which are marked by stark temperature differences from season to season and ranging from 100° F (38° C) in the summer to 10° F (–12° C) in the winter.

The world's ten longest rivers
It is difficult to measure the length of a river, the more precise the measurement, the longer the river will seem. Also, it is difficult to determine where a river begins or ends, as very often, upstream rivers are formed by seasonal streams, swamps, or changing lakes.
These are average measurements.
Nile (6,690 km)
Amazon (6,452 km)
Mississippi-Missouri (6,270 km)[1]
Yangtze (Chang Jiang) (6,245 km)[2]
Yenisey-Angara (5,550 km)
Huang He (Yellow) (5,464 km)
Ob-Irtysh (5,410 km)
Amur (4,410 km)
Congo (4,380 km)
Lena (4,260 km)
