I believe everything you've stated will happen.
We are doomed as a species, and deservedly so. If we continue to vote for warmongering rednecks to lead us, then we deserve to reap what we sow.

I believe the Bible and that it says that one day the saved will rise again and those left behind will suffer 7 years in a time called the Tribulation. After that time the world will be obliterated. And then God will start all over again. I'm not a freak conservationalist or anything, but I do believe that we should make efforts to keep the earth clean and only use the materials here on earth when we need them instead of ripping apart the world piece by piece. However, the world has to stay in tact till the end of the tribulation, so that obviously means that God will not let us all blow up until his purpose is finished. I also believe that the world is not a kind place anymore. You can't just walk down the street and not have the fear of being mugged or kidnapped or being cussed at, etc. The best that we can do is to live our lives as best as we can and be as nice to other people as best as we can. Within reason of course, but nonetheless, that's what I believe.

Eventually the human race will end. I wouldn't say we are on a collision course for total destruction. That's a bit much.

Who fights more than relatives? We compete against each other because we all have the exact same needs. We will always be this way until the bitter end.

I fear that you are absolutely correct. The more sophisticated our weaponry the closer we are to total annihilation. We were formulated to hate, fight, deceive, kill....and it will be our downfall.
Perhaps this is what God had in mind for us?
