I think the San Antonio resturaunt you are talking about is in the Tower of the Americas. I'm not sure if it rotates. I've never been there because I thought it was too pricey.

As far as lodging is concerned, it depends on what kind of place you're looking for. For extra-luxurious I would recommend the acclaimed Watermark hotel or the La Mansion Del Rio, both located on the Riverwalk. The Hilton Palacio del rio and the Hyatt Regency are quite nice too. If you are travelling with young ones I highly recommend the Hyatt Hill Country Resort which is located on the outskirts of the city adjacent to SeaWorld Texas. The restaurant that revolves is called Eyes Over Texas and sits atop The Tower of The Americas, downtown. The restaurant is very pricey and some say the food is not quite worth the price. But you do have to remember that, partially, you are paying for the view. From the newly rennovated restaurant (which revolves 360 degrees every hour), you can see the entire Alamo city and its surrounding areas. It really is quite impressive. Hope this helps.

Hi
The rest is the Tower of Americas: 600 Hemisfair Plaza Way, San Antonio, 78205 - (210) 207-8615. You will definitely want to make reservations well in advance. I have been turned away before...March is especially a busy time due to spring breakers. A great place to stay in the Marriot on the Riverwalk 889 E Market St San Antonio, TX 78205
(210) 224-4555. Accommodations are fabulous (plush beds and down alternative pillows) and right on the heart of the Riverwalk. Easy access to bars, clubs and restaurants...try MIchelino's (Italian) if the tower does not work out. Also, the rivercenter mall is very close...standard mall with an outdoor gazebos with live music right on the river...plus you can get all your souvenirs!
Have fun!!

The restaurant that rotates is called the Tower of Americas. It's the focal point of Downtown San Antonio. I would suggest staying on the River Walk. See the web pages below for hotels and restaurants. You are wise to come in March. April is the "Party Time" in San Antonio with Fiesta. It's WONDERFUL, but there are not always hotels available down town due to the crowds.

there are various places downtown, notably on the Riverwalk. Google, sunset Station San Antonio, great track venue. The St Mary's Strip has a great number of bars and track. The Blue celeb complicated is likewise sturdy while you're into Jazz.

Well as to where to stay? I don't think it really matters, but I like La Quinta or Days Inn, continental breakfast!! And that restaraunt that rotates, that's in Dallas!! Everyone got it wrong. The Tower of the Americas doesn't rotate. The one in downtown dallas with lights surounding it, I think it's called the Hemosphere Restaraunt (Tower). I've eaten there, it's the coolest. But if you want another experience of being in South Texas go to the area called "El Mercado" and eat at Mi Tierra! Go early! If you want to eat at lunch, be there by 10-10:30!! The lines get long! Food is delicious! You could also walk around, lots to see!!
If you want something alittle more closer to down town and highclass. You could stay at the hotel inside the Riverwalk Mall, I forgot the name, but the service is great and the view is spectacular. Plus you're in the middle of everything!!
HAVE FUN!!

Sngcanary gave a good answer. I would add the La Mansion del Rio which is on the Riverwalk across from the Watermark. Both the Watermark and the Valencia and the Watermark consistently show up on the best in country lists. The Watermark is known for its SPA.
Further out is the Hyatt Hill Country Resort near Sea World. It may be too cool in March for the on premises water tube ride, but it's a beautiful property.
Hope you enjoy your stay.

The restaurant is the Tower of the Americas. I am not sure its worth the price. If I could stay in any hotel in town I would stay at the Hotel Valencia on the Riverwalk. Its very trendy and right on the river. If you prefer a more traditional hotel I would recommend the Westin Riverwalk. If you prefer a more resort like hotel the Westin La Canterra is great!

The Riverwalk has lots of fabulous hotels if price is no object but there are also lots of chain hotels in downtown that are more reasonable and its easy to walk just about anywhere downtown....during the day... some areas I would not walk after night. Check San Antonio's web page for great suggestions and be sure to see that tourist trap....The Alamo....way too many great ideas for that area...indoor...outdoor....cultural...food... you have just got to do a little research for YOUR tastes..enjoy
