the longest field goal does not mean anything really there could be wind makeing the ball go farther its not that hard so stop picking people with the longest field goals if you know anything about football
Adam Vinateri is the best kicker all time in the nfl he has 10 kicks in the playoffs this year and just passed the record of 9.. he is the highest paid kicker and is one of the reasons why the colts went this far in the playoffs.

It has to be Vinatieri of the Colts. How can you not want a guy that has only missed a field goal in the playoffs (18 of 19) in the last 3 years. The kid is looking for his 3rd Superbowl title and New England and Indy wouldn't of been there without him. Look at Indy, great team for all these years, never got to the big game, then they sign him and walla, Superbowl. His name should be Super Vinatieri.

It's Adam Vinatieri without a doubt. He's the greatest clutch kicker in the history of the NFL.

Statistically, it's Mike Vanderjagt although he is currently unemployed. However, I would love to have Adam Vinitieri from the Colts on my team. He has to be the best clutch kicker in league history.
Others that are noteworthy are Jeff Wilkins, John Carney, Martin Grammatica, Sebastian Janikowski, and Shane Graham

Adam Vinateri is the best in the regular season, postseason, and as a clutch kicker. He averages at almost 30 field goals a year and has the second best career kicking percentage of 82.5%. Plus he has never missed a field goal in the postseason. Thats why he's such a clutch.

The greatest of all time is Dempsey. He kicked with half a foot and made some of the best kicks around. He was a Saint. In the modern game, I'd have to go with another former Saint, Morten Andersen.

Even though he doesn't get the credit he deserves... Jason Elam of the Broncos. The guy is money. Even from 63 yards.
