(I don't understand from "her features.." till the end of sentence)

It means that if you look at her, it seems like her eyes, nose and mouth are all in a very close area in the middle of the face.

Her features are her eyes, nose and mouth. It means there all smashed together in the middle of her face. Like Ted Kennedy.

I think it means that she looks like she is always squinting.

That would pull a lot of her features toward the middle of her face.
