At what point do you admit your wrong ? Do you just keep putting off criticism so you can go on with a failed policy. We have been in Iraq for over three and a half years. If Iraq has anything to do with the war on terror it's because Bush created that situation by destabilizing Iraq. It should not be forgotten that Bush got us into this. That will be important when we evaluate what he recommends in the future.

Using Gates as an example of what opposition opinion is doing abroad is akin to taking the fox's opinion of chicken-coop security seriously. Gates is just another Bush mouthpiece, and God bless his incompetent little heart, he doesn't have too many of those left. There are very good reasons the majority of both Houses, and Americans, "bash" Bush. He has been amazingly ineffective and incompetent in Iraq, not to mention that he relegated the real War on Terror to second status to feed his obsession with Saddam Hussein. We are in big trouble in the Middle East. Who should we blame besides George Bush and his policies? The enemy - aka the terrorists? They hate us no matter who is charge. It is immaterial to them what leader the US has in place. Anyone who buys into their rhetoric about our political leaders is doing exactly what they want - listening to them as though they are due credence for any type of honesty of opinion.

Oh so this is just very typical of narrow thinking. If Iraq were winnable it would have been won by now. Bashing Bush does not embolden the bad guys, stop believing their lies. Dissent is the most patriotic thing of all. You cant just blindly follow the President simply because he is the President. It is fairly obvious to anyone with a brain, that he has no plan for Iraq and that 20,000 troops just isnt going to cut it.

Clearly, it is MUCH more important to win not only in Iraq but also to defeat global terror. We cannot do this well or quickly if we continue to have to fight fellow Americans who are more concerned with destroying the President.

And who benefits from all this bickering? Terrorists and their supporters. I can't imagine any of this happening during WWII, when the country was united against a common enemy.

That guy is so full of it. The enemy is emboldened regardless of what we do in this situtation.

We have created a catch-22 situation over there by going in to a sovereign nationalistic country and expecting them to embrace us as liberators instead of occupiers. So is it better to fuel the fire of hatred toward America and create more terrorists by staying there or is it better to save the lives of our troops, the resources of our taxpayers and leave the insurgents feeling victorious?

Either way we lose. Thanks Bush. BTW, where the heck is Bin Ladin?
