i've been looking at some magazines lately and it is showing that wide leg pants and jeans are going to be the next big trend in denim this year. i knew we just got out of the bellbottom craze in 2003 just when straight legs made a resurgence in denim. the skinny trend is still going strong with leggings and skinny jeans but it is going to be haunted again with the '70s look on the horizon. notice the pattern that we went through this decade with all types of these type of jeans:

flares+bellbottoms (1999 - 2003) leg openings were a lot wider.

slim flares+bootcuts (2003 - 2004) flares got smaller and bootcuts became more dominant.

bootcuts+straight legs (2004 - 2005) jeans were shrinking which signaled an '80s resurgence.

straight legs+skinny jeans (2006 -) straight legs became more slimmer and tapered at the ankle.

skinny jeans+wide legs (2007 -) we jumped from the '80s and back to the bellbottoms.

You think? Bell Bottoms, they keep coming back.

1972, Bell Bottoms, I wore them at university.

And the girls. Girls with Bell Bottoms on, they were so sexy. Gosh, made me horny just looking at them. So sexy, so loverly, so nice.

If only it was 1972 again, and I had my bell bottomed girls. That would be heaven.

I sure hope so! bell bottoms or should i say low rise flares or what not are the most popular because it goes with most womens figures..for the skinny jeans you pretty much can't have a figure like not curves in the thighs or azz. I hate skinny jean and i am not fat at all i only wear a size 4 but they make me look bigger because it emphazies my azz

36 inch bells, ah what fine memories (those that I can remember from them days). It would be nice if a new peace movement came along with them and todays youth tried to make some form of social statement while making a fashion statement. Peace, love and bellbottoms.

They are supposed to be making a comeback... of course for me, they never left :) I wasn't too big on the skinny leg look and I wear more of a flare instead of the wide leg... same style since 7th grade.
